There was something for every Norfolk lover at the North Stonington, CT fairgrounds on August 14th. A little bit of lure coursing. Some flat racing. A chance to introduce young dogs to quarry. Wonderful food, thanks to the ladies of the Grange, and other informal events characterized the day.
After a summer of hot, dry weather, we were even treated to a shower or two and some overcast skies. The dogs benefited from the cooler weather, and no one got seriously wet.
Jane and Everett Anderson hosted an informal get-together at their home in Mystic on Friday evening. Visitors from as far south as Virginia and as far north as Canada had a chance to mix and mingle, while more than one Norfolk took a dip in the Anderson's pond.
Following Saturday's activities, many attendees gathered at a nearby restaurant to hash over the days events. Rainy weather on Sunday may have put a damper on a few sight-seeing plans, but all-in-all it was another successful ANTA weekend.
