On Saturday, August 18th, the fairgrounds in North Stonington, Connecticut were turned into Norfolk nirvana or close to it! This is a day that is dedicated to non-competitive events with an introduction to racing, earthwork and agility all part of the fun.

Richard Reynolds captured the attention of many dog and handler teams with his intriguing "Ratting for Ratings" challenge. Once Richard disappeared in the woods to run this new event, we never saw him again! Word has it that he finally emerged after the last eager Norfolk had finally found its quarry.

Puppies were given the opportunity to meet (safely caged) rats, and Peggy Metcalf once again worked wonders as she turned tentative little souls into hardy little earthdogs.
Lori Pelletier's grooming demonstration is always an attention-getter, and this year was no exception. Although it takes years of practice to attain the polished appearance that Lori gives the dogs she is showing in the breed ring, she also offered many tips in keeping our pampered house pets neat and tidy.

Judging by the attention paid as Lori demonstrated various grooming techniques, lots of Norfolks got spiffy new "dos" when they returned home.
As usual, Jane and Everett Anderson did a great job hosting this event, complete with a gathering at the Anderson's home on Friday evening. Combined with the wonderful lunch put on by the ladies of the grange, all attendees were particularly well fed!
