Despite the "swampy" weather -- shades of our weird and wonderful summer in the northeast -- a good time was had by all at ANTA's "Fun at the Fair".
Lori Pelletier, owner, groomer and handler, gave an excellent seminar on grooming do's and don'ts and transformed a shaggy Norfolk into a sleek dog. She fielded questions in the process as well. Mary Fine gave an obedience demonstration with "Cindy", who clearly was enjoying herself and entertaining us all with her antics. Marge Lynwater and her 2 setters gave a talking demonstration of agility and then helped introduce Norfolks to the agility course.
While all this was happening, other Norfolks were being introduced to "rats" and "treasure hunting" as well, ably guided by Peggy Metcalf and her team of helpers.
The Ladies of the Grange provided their always excellent lunch, during which everyone had a chance to meet and greet while the dogs rested, in preparation for their afternoon of racing, lure coursing and hunting.
All in all, a very happy and relaxed day and many thanks to all who helped, with special thanks to Jane and Everett Anderson.
