Message From the President ...
ANTA PLANS FOR 1999

We are planning four events: April in West Virginia, May in New Mexico, August in Connecticut, and October in New York.

On April 24th, Carolyn and Wally Bishop will host a Mountaineer Spring Fling at their farm near Martinsburg, WV. Two years ago we had rain, which fortunately proved to be only a minor annoyance as the Bishop's indoor training room was ideal for conformation, lunch, and the ANTA store. With the event set two weeks later this year, we have a better chance for good weather. The site features a permanent go-to-ground earth, as well as separate areas for intro to earthdog, flat racing and lure coursing. Norfolk breeder Linda Plummer (Wenwagon Kennels) will judge conformation while Richard Reynolds and Carl Schrader will handle earthdog.

Our biannual visit to Santa Fe, NM, falls on Friday, May 14th, with Bobby Fournier hosting and breeder Franzi Nidever, Landmark Kennels, judging conformation. The event is coordinated with the Albuquerque cluster of shows Saturday through Monday. (Superintendent is Onofrio; entries close April 28.)

For our Summer Fun Days on August 14th, we will use the fair grounds at North Stonington, CT. Located in southeastern Connecticut, near Mystic, the location offers all facilities and great home 'cookin' by the ladies of the Grange.

Our Fall Festival in Katonah, NY, this year will be October 16-17. A routine show-calendar cycle this year moves many events back a week and our event is still the week after Montgomery. Noted handler Jack Simm is our conformation judge.

Watch for event fliers for complete details.
