Message From the President ...
ANTA GREETS 2003 WITH A FULL SLATE OF ACTIVITIES

Hello everyone. I trust that you have all recovered from the rigors of the winter and that when you read this Spring will be well on its way.

I am pleased to announce a series of gatherings starting with the Spring Fling that will be held in Green Village, NJ on May 10th. This will be a puppy match judged by Wayne Hallard, with various other activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. Norfolks of all ages are welcome to participate in all events except the match, itself, which is restricted to the youngsters. There will also be a summer picnic and fun day in Stonington, CT on August 9th and we are looking forward to our annual Fall Festival that will be held next October.

As usual, we are always in need of volunteers, who will help with activities for events already planned and (especially) people who will step forward and volunteer to host an event. ANTA has members in 31 states and eight foreign countries. While vast distances in some areas of the US make getting together with other Norfolk owners somewhat problematic, there are still fairly large groups of owners in several different areas. Hosting an informal picnic, having a grooming demonstration, spending a day teaching puppies the ABC's of earth work, are all good ways to spark the camaraderie for which ANTA is known.

On another note, I am very pleased to announce that we have received permission from the estate of Joan R. Read to reprint her book, The Norfolk Terrier, which is the definitive source of information about the breed here in the USA. Further details will be announced as the work progresses.
