    WELCOME TO ANTA

The American Norfolk Terrier Association (ANTA) is a national club, with an international membership, that is devoted to protecting and advancing the interests of the Norfolk Terrier through education, communication, and fostering the special camaraderie that develops through association with this charming and rare breed.

    SIGNIFICANCE OF NORFOLK PICTURED ABOVE

The Norfolk pictured above is Ch. Merry of Beaufin, who was the first American Norfolk champion.

    BREEDER REFERRAL

Breeder referral is not a club function and ANTA does not maintain a list of breeders. Our advice for finding a Norfolk appears on our Breeder List page; so, please do not write to ask for names of breeders.

THE NORFOLK TERRIER BY JOAN R. READ

The Norfolk Terrier, written by the late Joan R. Read and edited by Nat R. LaMar, is considered to be the definitive book about the Norfolk Terrier. ANTA has reprinted it as the Third Edition and ordering information is now posted on our Publications page.

It is beautiful 6" x 9" hardback of 370 pages with over 300 black and white photos and illustrations. The text includes early history of the breed; conformation; traits; health; grooming, and much more.

    ABOUT THIS WEB SITE

ANTA has published its American Norfolk Terrier Information Circular (ANTIC) since 1981 and in the process has created a unique and valuable collection of Norfolk information. This web site provides a way to access that and other material; visit our Articles Index.

Articles from our newsletter that are of continuing interest are posted two to three months after their publication in ANTIC; other items are included as they become available.

We believe you will find this site to be informative and useful. We invite your comments.

    USING THIS PAGE

To make it convenient to find new or revised material, every page on this site contains the date of posting or last revision in the upper left corner. Further, the date of the last change to the site appears at the top of the Index/Links column to the left. When a link appears in italics, it means that the link is new or has been updated within the last thirty days.

    ANTA MEMBERSHIP NOT AN ENDORSEMENT

Members of the American Norfolk Terrier Association love and are devoted to this breed. However, membership in ANTA is neither an endorsement nor a certification of the individual or his or her kennel.
